The 2008 Dreadnought opens up to aromas of white pepper, star anise and blueberries with hints of wild game and a subtle floral fragrance. The palate has a mineral vibrancy which holds the firm ripe tannins in check. Overall the Dreadnought 2008 has layers of complex characters that unfold as the wine opens up in the glass revealing subtle hints of spice and game, a rich supple palate with the graphite-like tannins typical of 2008 Syrah from Waiheke Island.

This wine is a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot. Aromas of cassis and charcuterie from the Cabernets introduce a big and bold palate with luscious Merlot softening the blow and Petit Verdot providing exotic spice. Commanding with granite like authority yet generous in nature the Ironclad strikes an impressive and stylish pose.

This wine is built with the Merlot component providing the fruit softness and lifted berry fruit aromas, the Cabernet Franc adding fragrant earthy notes and a sinewy structure. Malbec brings ripe tannins and intense floral aromas while the Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon add density and tannin weight to the wine. The blend draws all the elements of the five varieties together resulting in a complex aroma profile of cassis and red summer berries, earthy undertones with a touch of floral fragrance, tarmac and leather all framed within a mix of predominantly French oak and a small component of American oak.

Aromas of fresh citrus fruits and freshly melted butter on warm toast lead into a fine focussed wine exhibiting fresh acidity and the clean lingering finish of fresh grapefruit. This estate grown Chardonnay is a perfect as an aperitif or as a companion to local Waiheke seafood.

Lifted floral aromas combine with dark berry fruit with a hint of asphalt and tar to give a fragrant and savoury perfume to the wine. The palate is warm and generous with sweet succulent fruit, ripe graphite like tannins and vibrant acidity. Classically styled with the exuberance of the new world this blended red combines all the softness and fragrance of Merlot and Malbec with the savour and cassis of Cabernet franc and the structure and power of Cabernet sauvignon.

Hand harvested grapes were transported by barge to Man O' War Bay and delivered via the beach to the winery. Ethereally fragrant aromas of apricots and lime cordial combine with subtle yeast autolysis characters reminiscent of a fine Champagne.

Fresh herbs and sweet vanilla with notes of canned apricots and creaming soda lead into a succulent mid palate. Vibrant and fresh with well balanced natural sweetness and both fruit and barrel tannins contributing length.

Man O' War Rosé is bright in colour with vibrant aromas of raspberries and a hint of aniseed. The palate is both softly textured and lively with crisp acidity and a pleasant spritz of carbon dioxide. Flavours of strawberries and cream with a cherry cola finish means this wine is a perfect summer drink best served well chilled.

This Sauvignon blanc grown on the coastal vineyards of Eastern Waiheke Island shows intense lime and passionfruit aromas typical of cool climate Sauvignon blanc. The palate shows a rich concentration of flavours with a well balanced vibrant acidity and fresh finish. This wine can be enjoyed with fresh fish and summer salads or as an aperitif.
